96Down Update Client

96Down Update Client is the client plugin installed on customer sites to connect WordPress plugin updates to the 96Down update platform.

What it does

• Connects the site to the 96Down update server
• Validates the customer’s license key
• Checks for managed plugin updates
• Injects available updates into the native WordPress plugin update flow
• Downloads update packages through the 96Down-managed secure package flow

Requirements

• WordPress 7.0 or higher
• PHP 8.1 or higher
• A valid 96Down license key

Installation

1. Upload and activate the plugin on the customer site.
2. Open 96Down Update Client in the WordPress admin menu.
3. Enter the following:
   • Server URL: the 96Down update server URL
   • License Key: the customer’s assigned license key
4. Click Save Settings.
5. Confirm that:
   • Server Connection shows OK
   • License Status shows active

How customers use it

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. Save the correct Server URL and License Key.
3. Use the normal WordPress update screens:
   • Dashboard -> Updates
   • Plugins
4. When a managed plugin has a newer version on 96Down, WordPress will show the update notice.
5. Clicking Update now will download and install the managed package through the 96Down update flow.

Notes

• This client currently manages plugin updates.
• Theme updates are not included in this release.
• A valid license key is required for managed update access.
